big black hole in milky way 6.6 Billion Sun Times)

Astronomers successfully measuring the black hole (black hole), the largest in the solar system neighbor. It is estimated that, black holes have equal weight with the weight of the sun 6.6 billion.
Seeing the size of a giant black hole in M87, elliptical galaxy that could become the first black hole that can be captured directly by the telescope, not found on the basis of the evidence obtained.

Karl Gebhardt, an astronomer at the University of Texas, the United States who led the research team using a telescope Gemini North 8-meter diameter that is in Hawaii. They observed the movement of stars around the black hole.
To get the black hole mass conclusively, Gebhardt and his team need to take into account all the components in the galaxy. Including dark halo - a region that surrounds the galaxy that is filled with dark particles - black holes and stars.
Gebhardt using Near-Field Infrared Spectograph the Gemini telescopes to measure the speed of the stars as they orbit the black hole. Adaptive optics is then used to replace a real time of each transfer in the atmosphere that can obscure the detail that can be captured by telescopes on Earth.
As a result, the team managed to track down the stars at the center of galaxy M87 with an accuracy 10 times better than before.
"These findings can only be possible by combining the advantages telescope size and spatial resolution at the level that is generally only permitted for use in outer space facilities," Gebhardt said, as quoted from TGDaily, January 18, 2011.
The discovery also opens up opportunities for allowing people to view the black hole. "Currently there is no direct evidence that black holes really exist," said Gebhardt. "Today a new black hole could be concluded," he said.
According to Gebhardt, a black hole in M87 is a giant in the future so that astronomers can detect the 'event horizon' or outer side, in which nothing can escape from it. An estimated black hole's event horizon-sized M87 three times larger than the orbit of the planet Pluto. This size is big enough to swallow entire solar system.
Although the technology to directly see a black hole, Gebhardt said, in the future, astronomers can also use the network sub-millimeter telescopes around the world to find the shadow of event horizons in the disc of gas surrounding the black hole M87. (Umi)
